Book Review – Velvet Rain by David C. Cassidy

Velvet RainMy Review of Velvet Rain by David C. Cassidy

Prepare for emotional upheaval, better wear your seat belt!

Velvet Rain will grab you from the first page and won’t let up, an emotional ride thanks to Cassidy’s skillful, descriptive narrative. Not only that, he gives his characters depth and something to do.

A fan of supernatural? His main character, Kain, has the ability to turn back time. Because of everything he’s been through in the past, your heart will  go out to Kain. You’ll find yourself sympathetic to his plight and root for him throughout the book.

Love a thriller with elements of horror? There’s a look into the dark side of humanity courtesy of the evil man named, Brikker, who is relentless in his pursuit of Kain.

Luckily for the reader, Cassidy is an author who isn’t afraid to take chances. All the while giving us that look into the nature of evil, he grips us with doom and gloom. Just when you think you know where things are going, he shows us the power of love. Yes, there’s romance here. When Kain tries his hand at a normal life in the Midwest with a woman who has a rocky past, he steps into another dynamic entirely. Family. Prepare for emotional upheaval.

If you like suspenseful horror as a backdrop, a thrilling pace, characters who jump off the page, you won’t go wrong with Velvet Rain.
